  • Police stated the man suffered from non-life-threatening injuries.
  • The casino is working with police regarding the investigation.

Early Sunday morning, just before 1:00 am, police arrived at the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore parking lot to investigate an alleged shooting.

Police found an unidentified 26-year-old man that had been shot lying on the ground. The man was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.

Police have yet to provide any details on the possible suspect or the motive behind the incident. It is unclear if the shooting was a robbery attempt gone wrong or perhaps the result of an argument. Police are asking that anyone with information on the case should contact the Metro Crime Stoppers hotline or the Southern District police station.

Horseshoe Casino Baltimore has responded to the incident, providing a statement to the local news station. The casino has its security and surveillance teams helping the police department regarding the shooting.

The casino did not provide any more details, citing the ongoing investigation of the incident. It is expected that in a few days, more information will surface on what happened and the status of the victim. Hopefully, surveillance footage will give police an indication as to the identity of the shooter so the individual can be captured.

We shall see in the coming weeks if police and security teams of the casino are able to come up with enough evidence to capture the shooter and reveal what went on at the Maryland casino.

Shooting Takes Place Just Weeks After Casino Player Home Robbery

The latest incident is just one example of criminal activity connected to the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore. In February, Clarence and Elizabeth were visiting the casino and won big while playing the slots. The two had plans to have dinner at home after the win.

Apparently, someone else had other plans and attacked the family soon after they arrived home from the casino. Elizabeth went out to check the mail and was grabbed by a man who demanded money from Clarence. Unfortunately, the demand ended with the gunman shooting and killing Clarence in his own home.

When the gunman grabbed Elizabeth, he said that he followed Clarence home from the casino, and he knew that he had won the money. Clarence gave him what he had in his pocket, but the criminal wanted more.

It’s a sad situation and a prime example as to how careful players must be when leaving a casino after a big win. Even when traveling to the parking lot, patrons should be aware of their surroundings and take action if it appears as if someone is following them out.
