Cordero Supe

  • Cordero Supe claims he was robbed at gunpoint while outside the casino.
  • The assailants may have been working with a female to steal the $40k.
  • Police are still searching for the individuals involved in the incident.

Visiting a casino is supposed to be a fun experience, especially if you win big.

For many players, a few hundreds is a great win, but sometimes, players walk away with five and six figure prizes.

Just recently, Cordero Supe was visiting the Rivers Casino Des Plaines in Illinois when he says he was robbed at gunpoint. The victim had won $40,000 while at the casino and the money was taken by the two criminals.

Details of the Incident

According to Supe, he was outside the casino and was speaking to a woman when he was approached by two men. The alleged assailants pointed a gun at him and took the $40,000 in cash at around 2:25 in the morning on November 8.

Supe feels that the woman he was chatting with might have been involved, used as a distraction to get him to stop outside the casino. The two men approached him wearing bandanas over their face so that their identity could not be seen. They were in a dark vehicle and had firearms. They demanded that Supe give him the cash so he did.

The casino is owned by Rush Street Gaming and Churchill Downs in Illinois. It is considered a safe space for gaming and the incident seems to be out of the ordinary.

Victim Files a Complaint with the Casino

Supe lives in another state but visits the area often as he is from the Chicago area. He was in town at the time and says when he visits, he regularly travels to the Rivers casino. In speaking to the media after the incident, Supe said that he was shocked at the experience and the lack of response from the security personnel of the casino.

According to Supe, security did not respond to the parking lot area after the incident. He had to go back inside and tell officials of the venue what happened. The Illinois casino has since released a statement and do not agree with the alleged victim’s claims.

The casino said they appreciate the rapid response of the first responders, and they immediately provide the surveillance footage in that area to police to help in the investigation. The casino says the safety and security of casino guests and team members is a top priority.

Supe says he was forced to give the assailants the money, his car keys, and cellphone. He did have a second cell phone so he was able to take a picture of the vehicle that was involved in the incident.
