Things to do on the Las Vegas Strip

Over the years, Las Vegas and the Strip have become practically synonymous. One does not visit Sin City without venturing into one of its quintessential streets. Once you’re actually there, it’s easy to get blinded by the flashing lights and numerous attractions, as the entire city is one endless source of entertainment.

Apart from world-famous vegas casinos, there are plenty of other things to do in the entertainment capital of the world. For that reason, we did some digging and compiled a list of activities in Vegas that you are bound to enjoy.

So, buckle up while we dive into the magical world of the Las Vegas Strip.

Check Out the Legendary Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign

What better way to start your journey than with an activity that’s absolutely free of charge?

The iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada” sign located at the southern end of the Strip has become the city’s landmark. The neon sign is a perfect picture spot for all of those who love that retro 50s vibe.

The 25-feet tall sign is the brainchild of Betty Willis, who also gifted it to the city. The seven white circles on it are supposed to represent silver dollars, an ode to another of Vegas’ nicknames — Silver City.

As this is a very popular tourist spot, the city decided to build a parking lot around it in 2008. Prior to that, the visitors would just stand in the middle of the road and put themselves at risk while trying to get a better look at it.

Go on a Gondola Ride

If you’ve always wanted to go to Italy, you can get a glimpse of Venice by taking a ride on one of the gondolas.

Part of the Venetian luxury resort, this is probably one of the most memorable activities you can do while visiting the Strip. There are two separate rides — inside and outside one.

If it’s your first time in Sin City, we recommend going with the former, as it will satisfy all of your touristy expectations. On this ride, you’ll truly feel like you’re in Venice, even for a moment, as you explore all the themed canals. Then again, in case you prefer something more private and quiet, you go for the outdoor ride. You’ll get to see the north end of the Strip along with the stunning exterior of the Venetian.

Visit the Botanical Gardens and Enjoy the Fountains at Bellagio’s

Movie buffs are probably familiar with the Bellagio, as it is the central setting for the famous Ocean’s Eleven.

The resort’s fountains are one of the most remarkable attractions on the Strip, which is why this is probably one of the top items on people’s Las Vegas things to do lists.

Romantics at heart can find a spot to sit, enjoy the music and the view, and fall in love with this city all over again.

Believe it or not, nature fans will have something to do on the Strip, as well. Each season Bellagio transforms a 14,000 ft sq space into dreamy botanical gardens. They are near the hotel’s lobby and open to visitors. The fragrant flowers and stunning installations have been wowing the public for years. The five seasonal themes encompass:

  • Spring
  • Summer
  • Fall
  • Winter
  • Chinese New Year

Feed the Sharks at Reef Aquarium

Those of you on a family trip shouldn’t miss out on the incredible Reef Aquarium.

Get up close and personal with more than 2,000 sea creatures, including:

  • Sharks
  • Turtles
  • Stingrays

The shark reef tunnel will give you a 360-degree view of all the amazing marine animals, making the whole experience all the more incredible.

What’s also interesting is that Shark Reef’s staff takes part in the “Adopt-a-Cove” program that gives them an opportunity to keep Lake Mead clean from pollutants. The lake is one of the largest water reservoirs in the US and provides water to Nevada, California, and Arizona.

Watch a Cirque du Soleil Show

If you are a planner, then you already know what to do at the Strip, and watching a Cirque du Soleil show probably takes the highest spot on your itinerary.

The whimsical shows will grab your attention straight away and transport you to the fantastical worlds you’ll never forget. Some of the more popular productions include:

  • Mystere
  • KA
  • O
  • Mad Apple

Keep in mind that Cirque du Soleil is a one-of-a-kind experience, so tickets tend to get sold out pretty quickly. Once you know the date of your Las Vegas trip, make sure to purchase tickets so you don’t miss your show of choice.

Once you’re there, you’ll get to see how these performers have redefined the notion of circus acts and made a household name known by the entire globe.

Yes, you’ve read it right; you can actually have dinner in Vegas’ own Eiffel Tower.

Visitors will get an incredible view of the magnificent Bellagio fountains and the entire Strip. Acclaimed chefs will be in charge of preparing some of their signature dishes, such as Beef Wellington and Roasted Rack of Lamb.

Of course, those who want to skip the meal, but still enjoy the breathtaking panorama, can simply go to the Eiffel Tower viewing deck instead. The 360-degree observation deck is 46 stories above the ground, giving you the perfect panoramic view of Sin City.
