A brand-new Nevada casino is coming to Reno-Sparks today as the Legends Bay Casino will celebrate its grand opening at 8pm. The casino will be open for business at this time, located in The Outlets at Legends. The casino has been in the works for quite some time, with the property first acquired in 2006 by Olympia Gaming.
It would take time and a considerable amount of effort to reach this point as the casino plans faced local political issues, the Great Recession, and then the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moving Forward After Final Approval
Olympia Gaming was able to move forward with the project after finding a grandfathered in gaming license in the Sparks area. After obtaining the license, the company was able to press forward. This past June, the state Gaming Commission gave the final approval needed for the casino to open. Over the past few months, the casino plans have really come to life as the final touches are added and employees were hired on.
As many as 300 people have been hired for the new location and they are ready to get to work. The final project came in at $130 to create and will be home to table games and slot options. The casino will also be home to the Circa Sportsbook, the first of its kind in the northern portion of the state.
Along with casino gaming and sports betting, the casino will offer several dining options along with beverage service. Visitors can enjoy dining at Food Truck Hall, Duke’s Steakhouse and LB Grill.
Newest Casino in Decades
The Legends Bay Casino will be the first new casino for the northern portion of the state in decades, an exciting time for the area and local gamers. According to Olympia Gaming Regional President Court Cardinal, the process of creating the casino was considered greatly from the chairs to the room acoustics.
Cardinal also stated that many people have asked about the new venue and wanted to see it. The casino has been kept a secret for quite some time when it comes to what players will see on-site. Now, everyone will have a look inside as the venue opens this evening.
Cardinal reiterated the excitement of opening day and stated that he wants to see everyone come in and have a wow moment, seeing Legends Bay as an elegant casino that is also very comfortable. It will be interesting to see the outcome once everyone gets to go inside the venue.
