Earlier this week, the Chumash Casino in California held its quarterly giveaway, Field of Greens. The special event produced 31 winners, with one lucky participant earning $50,000. The winners come from a pool of players who take part in free play at the casino for a chance to win a portion of $250,000 in cash and prizes.
The big winner is known as Arnel Q. The prize was awarded late in the evening during the grand prize drawing. For Arnel, he was visiting the casino with his wife, and she was ready to leave. He fortunately convinced her to stay and found out he won the big prize.
Funnily enough, Arnel said he wanted to wait around and collect his money. After he said that, thinking he would be the winner, the casino actually called his name. His wife Melissa started screaming and people were high-fiving her like she had won the prize.
Melissa then pointed out that a fortune cookie predicted the win earlier in the evening. The message inside the cookie said: “You will have financial freedom today”, and then they won the big prize. The couple plans to use the money to pay bills and build up their savings account.
What is the Field of Green?
California‘s Chumash Casino hosts the Field of Green contest quarterly, rewarding their regular players for visiting the venue. The gaming rules state that guests can earn entries into the quarterly drawing as well as weekly drawings by playing slots and table games. The games must be played with a player’s card from THE CLUB at the casino.
During the drawing, there are prizes on offer ranging from $2,500 to $25,000 in free play from 5-9 pm. Then the top prize drawing takes place thereafter. The next quarterly contest giveaway will take place on April 24 at 10 pm. Guests will be able to try and win a 2022 Georgetown motorhome that is valued at over $150,000.
The prizes vary each time, from cash to items. To be eligible to win, players must check in at a slot or table game with their player card. Players can also visit THE CLUB on the night of the giveaway from 4-9 pm to check in.
