{"id":3594,"date":"2026-08-26T11:58:43","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T11:58:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.casinousa.com\/news\/?p=3594"},"modified":"2026-08-26T11:58:43","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T11:58:43","slug":"new-las-vegas-resort-planned-with-57000-sq-ft-casino-300-rooms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.casinousa.com\/news\/new-las-vegas-resort-planned-with-57000-sq-ft-casino-300-rooms","title":{"rendered":"New Las Vegas Resort Planned With 57,000-Sq-Ft Casino, 300 Rooms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.casinousa.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/08\/paradise-spa-las-vegas.jpg\" alt=\"Paradise Spa, Las Vegas\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3595\" width=\"300\" title=\"New Las Vegas Resort Planned With 57,000-Sq-Ft Casino, 300 Rooms\" \/><strong>Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Vegas businessman plans to build a new hotel casino resort on a 13.5-acre site five miles south of the Strip.<\/li>\n<li>The first phase would build 300 hotel rooms with 150 extra rooms added in the second phase. <\/li>\n<li>The first part of the project would also introduce a 57,000-square-foot casino, along with dining, entertainment and conference facilities.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.casinousa.com\/blog\/4-las-vegas-casinos-that-should-make-significant-progress-in-2024\">Las Vegas could be set for another major casino development<\/a>, this time in the growing area south of the Strip.<\/p>\n<p>Plans submitted to Clark County outline a proposed resort called Silverado, which would be developed by local businessman <strong>Michael Ochoa<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>The project would occupy a vacant 13.5-acre parcel at the northwest corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Richmar Avenue, several miles from the main Strip resort corridor.<\/p>\n<p>The site is located just north of Silverado Ranch Boulevard and roughly five miles south of the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip. If the proposal receives the necessary approvals, the development would bring a new casino, hotel accommodation, restaurants, entertainment and meeting facilities to the area.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"540-hotel-rooms-57000-square-foot-casino\">540 Hotel Rooms, 57,000-Square-Foot Casino<\/h2>\n<p>The initial phase of Silverado is planned to <strong>include 300 hotel rooms and a 57,000-square-foot casino<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The resort would also feature food and beverage outlets, entertainment areas and conference space, giving the project a mix of gaming, hospitality and leisure facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The developer has outlined a second stage that would expand the hotel operation by another 150 rooms. Once both phases are completed, Silverado would therefore have a planned total of 450 hotel rooms.<\/p>\n<p>A Clark County staff report indicates that the <strong>completed development would consist of two six-story hotel buildings along with a five-level parking garage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The project would provide another resort option for visitors staying away from the central Strip while adding new commercial activity along this part of Las Vegas Boulevard.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"silverado-still-needs-county-approval\">Silverado Still Needs County Approval<\/h2>\n<p>The proposed resort is not yet approved, and construction cannot move ahead unless it clears the county&#8217;s review process. Clark County commissioners are scheduled to consider the Silverado proposal on September 2. The hearing will represent an important next step for the development as officials review the plans for the site.<\/p>\n<p>Ochoa, who leads Ochoa Development Corp., did not respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Land-use consultant <strong>Lucy Stewart<\/strong>, who is representing the developer, highlighted the project&#8217;s potential impact on the surrounding area in a letter submitted to the county.<\/p>\n<p>She characterized Silverado as a substantial long-term investment and said the development could help support the continued evolution and revitalization of this stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"development-planned-on-vacant-land\">Development Planned on Vacant Land<\/h2>\n<p>The proposed resort would rise on vacant property across from the <strong>site of the former Paradise Spa condominium complex<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The former residential complex had become <strong>associated with fires and squatters before changing hands last year<\/strong>. The property was subsequently demolished, clearing the site for a planned housing development.<\/p>\n<p>Silverado would therefore represent another significant development in an area that has been undergoing changes as residential and commercial projects expand farther south from the traditional Strip.<\/p>\n<p>Its position near Silverado Ranch also puts the proposed resort in an established part of the southern Las Vegas market rather than directly within the most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casinousa.com\/blog\/what-is-the-strip-in-las-vegas\">concentrated Strip casino zone<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For now, Silverado remains a development proposal rather than a confirmed new casino resort.<\/p>\n<p>There is no construction start date or opening date attached to the project, and its plans could still change during the approval process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Summary: A Vegas businessman plans to build a new hotel casino resort on a 13.5-acre site five miles south of the Strip.
