The venue was launched by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casinousa.com\/news\/steve-wynn-to-pay-10m-in-nevada-sexual-misconduct-case\">Steve Wynn<\/a>, the former Wynn Resorts mogul. <\/p>\n<p>The location will soon become home to the Hard Rock Hotel &#038; Casino Las Vegas and the Guitar Hotel Las Vegas. The new property will bring a unique look and feel to Las Vegas, with quality hotel space and casino gaming. <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"the-last-night-for-the-mirage\">The Last Night for the Mirage <\/h2>\n<p><strong>The Mirage closed on Wednesday, July 17<\/strong>, with a celebration involving employees, guests, and locals. The iconic property was a staple for Las Vegas, having been unique in the fact that it focused on non-gaming amenities instead of casino gaming. The property was a top destination for dining, entertainment, exotic animals, and attractions. <\/p>\n<p><strong>The popular volcano show erupted at 11:30 p.m. last night in honor of the casino&#8217;s final day.<\/strong> By midnight, most of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casinousa.com\/games\">table games<\/a> were closed, and the gaming floor was officially shut down after 2 a.m. Players hit the tables hard over the past week and enjoyed all the gaming options of the Mirage, as the facility was giving away $1.6 million cash prizes to visitors. <\/p>\n<p>Everyone who visited in the past week explored the casino and had one last look around before the venue closed for good. <\/p>\n<div style=\"position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:56.25%\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/S05u4VUlxHo?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0?ecver=2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"the-new-development\">The New Development <\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.casinousa.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/01\/rendering-of-proposed-new-hard-rock-casino-las-vegas.jpg\" alt=\"rendering of proposed new hard rock casino las vegas\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3189\" width=\"250\" \/>The new Hard Rock Casino development is set to open in 2027. It will include a 660-foot-tall guitar-shaped hotel, and the existing structure of the Mirage will also be used. Hard Rock will revamp the property and add 1.1 million square feet overall. The Guitar Hotel tower will be similar to the one found in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casinousa.com\/states\/florida\">Florida<\/a> at the Hard Rock property and is expected to be a sight to see once finished. <\/p>\n<p>The 3,000-room resort will be renovated over a three-year period and will remove the tropical theme. The property will change to a Hard Rock theme, which will center around music and pop culture. It is unclear as to exactly what will be added design-wise for guest rooms. <\/p>\n<p>The casino&#8217;s closure affects more than 3,000 employees, many of whom have been with the casino since it first opened. Union employees will earn a compensation package based on years of service and seniority. <\/p>\n<p>The <strong>new property is expected to offer up to 6,000 jobs<\/strong>, which will help those who are displaced by the Mirage\u2019s closing.
