{"id":3299,"date":"2024-04-17T13:34:17","date_gmt":"2024-04-17T13:34:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.casinousa.com\/news\/?p=3299"},"modified":"2024-04-17T13:34:36","modified_gmt":"2024-04-17T13:34:36","slug":"new-jerseys-online-casinos-hit-new-revenue-record-in-march","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.casinousa.com\/news\/new-jerseys-online-casinos-hit-new-revenue-record-in-march","title":{"rendered":"New Jersey\u2019s Online Casinos Hit New Revenue Record in March"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.casinousa.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/08\/new-jersey.jpg\" alt=\"New Jersey\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1111\" width=\"300\" title=\"New Jersey\u2019s Online Casinos Hit New Revenue Record in March\" \/><strong>Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Internet gambling market in New Jersey hit a new record in March. <\/li>\n<li>The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement reported over $197 million in revenue from online casino games.<\/li>\n<li>Still, the in-person winnings were lower than the pre-pandemic levels at most casinos.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On Tuesday, the <strong>New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement<\/strong> issued the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.gov\/oag\/ge\/docs\/Financials\/PressRelease2024\/March2024.pdf\">latest report<\/a> showcasing casinos\u2019 performances in March.<\/p>\n<p>According to the fresh data, <strong>casinos generated wins of over $197 million from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casinousa.com\/games\">online casino games<\/a><\/strong> last month. <\/p>\n<p>The amount helped the Garden State set a new online casino revenue record, which has been a constant of the fast-moving internet gambling market here. <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"in-person-gambling-revenue-lower-than-pre-pandemic-figures\">In-Person Gambling Revenue, Lower Than Pre-Pandemic Figures<\/h2>\n<p>Despite the record-smashing metrics of the internet gambling market, New Jersey continues to struggle with the money won from in-person gamblers at the majority of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casinousa.com\/blog\/low-roller-casinos-in-atlantic-city\">Atlantic City\u2019s casinos<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The figure continues to be lower than the pre-COVID-19 pandemic figures.<\/p>\n<p>Compared to last year\u2019s recorded in-person winnings for March, <strong>Borgata<\/strong> won $56.5 million, marking an 8.1% decrease while <strong>Hard Rock<\/strong> scooped up $44.3 million, signaling an 11% rise. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Harrah\u2019s<\/strong> recorded a slight 2% increase to $21 million, Ocean reported $40.6 million in in-person winnings, which was 17.6% higher than March 2023 while <strong>Tropicana<\/strong> ended March 2024 with $19.8 million in winnings, up 2.5% compared to the same month of 2024.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Golden Nugget<\/strong> recorded an 11.4% rise to $13.6 million while <strong>Caesars<\/strong> won $18.5 million, going up 8% from last year. <\/p>\n<p>Finally, <strong>Bally\u2019s<\/strong> recorded $11.7 million in-person winnings, up 11.2% while Resorts reported $13.4 million, marking a 6% increase. <\/p>\n<p>In total, all nine casinos collectively won $239 million from in-person gamblers, signaling a 5% increase from the past year. <\/p>\n<p>Only two of the venues managed to individually win more in person in March 2024 than they did pre-COVID.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"the-atlantic-city-gambling-market-off-to-a-solid-start\">The Atlantic City Gambling Market, \u201cOff to a Solid Start\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>According to Lloyd Levenson Institute at Stockton University\u2019s director, <strong>Jane Bokunewicz<\/strong>, the Atlantic City gambling market\u2019s total revenue for the current year is \u201c<em>off to a solid start<\/em>\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>The 11% rise compared to the first three months of 2023 year is sending positive signals into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casinousa.com\/states\/new-jersey\">New Jersey casino<\/a> market. <\/p>\n<p>However, casinos are more interested in in-person winnings since they can keep all the money, as opposed to winnings from internet gambling or sports wagering which is shared with outside parties.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Summary: Internet gambling market in New Jersey hit a new record in March.
