\"Ohio\"The casinos and racinos of Ohio<\/a> have enjoyed a fruitful year. After a devastating 2020, with casinos shut down or open with minimal operations, the venues have made a comeback this year. <\/p>\n

So far, $2.11 billion in gambling revenues have been earned<\/strong>, with December still to go. Once the November totals were revealed, the operators saw that already, the year was up $120 million over the annual totals for 2019, the year before the pandemic started. <\/p>\n

Let\u2019s Hear It for 2021!<\/h2>\n

Last year, the casinos and racinos in Ohio was hit with shutdowns, curfews, and plenty of restrictions. Only $1.44 billion was earned last year due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic<\/strong>. Aside from last year, the industry has been successful each year, seeing an increase in earnings on a consecutive basis. <\/p>\n

The November 2021 totals<\/a> helped the casinos to push past previous records and already set a new total for annual earnings and the year isn\u2019t over yet. For the three gambling facilities in the Cleveland area, each one was able to post a gain in November. <\/p>\n

MGM Northfield Park<\/strong> earned just over $21 million, which is a nice increase from $15.6 million in November 2020. JACK Cleveland<\/strong> was up as well, generating $21 million. This was a solid boost from $14.5 million last year. JACK Thistledown Racino<\/strong> saw a lower increase, moving from $11.3 million to $14.3 million. <\/p>\n

One element that hurt the Cleveland casinos was the overnight curfew issued in November 2020. Each day shut down the normal 24\/7 services and with fewer guests, less revenues were generated. The curfew was thankfully lifted by February. <\/p>\n

The Hollywood Columbus<\/strong> was up too, earning over $20 million, when last year the venue brought in just over $15 million. Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati<\/strong> saw an increase as well, moving from $12.8 million to $19.8 million. Hollywood Toledo saw a small increase, earning $17 million, just $500,000 more than the previous year. <\/p>\n

Slot<\/a> and table games helped to boost revenue earnings for each operator. Overall, the casinos netted just over $26 million from table games and $60 million from slot machines. <\/p>\n

Racinos Help Boost Overall Revenue Totals<\/h2>\n

The racinos in Ohio do not offer table games, but they do provide slot machine gaming. Overall, slots generated over $100 million in November, which is a huge boost from the $73.9 million earned in November 2020. <\/p>\n

Each venue was able to see an increase in earnings of at least a few million dollars. The Hollywood Dayton<\/strong> facility was up to over $11 million from its $8.8 million in November 2020. Scioto Downs<\/strong> also saw a nice increase, moving from $12.7 million to $17.4 million. <\/p>\n

It will be interesting to see where the state lands after the December totals are revealed.
